Boredom turning Young Adults into criminals

According to an article published by the ABS:

“Young people aged 15-24 years are more likely to commit crimes than older people.

The reasons why young people commit crimes may include boredom, peer group pressure and risk-taking behaviour (ABS 2008b).

In 2008-09, the rate of offenders in the criminal justice system was highest for people aged 15-19 years at 5,484 offenders per 100,000 people aged 15-19 years. The peak age at which young people had police proceedings brought against them was 18 years.”

What if we could provide an alternative for boredom and risk-taking behaviour…

What if boredom became a thing of the past and fun became a constant…

What if risk-taking behaviour was replaced with safe experiences….

Thats one of the reasons this site exists.

To provide opportunities and experiences for young adults. To increase their experience base. To provide opportunities for fun and growth instead of boredom and destructive behaviour. To make the opportunity for fun and experiences central.

If we can help one young adult, find one event, who meets one new friend, which eliminates one lonely or bored night – then it’s all worth it!
